I didn’t expect to be writing this week’s newsletter from the heart of Texas with a side of ER adrenaline, but here we are. You know I keep it real, so here’s the wild midweek recap:
🪼 That Time the Ocean Fought Back
We took a little family getaway to Port Aransas, dreaming of sandcastles and seashells. What we didn’t plan for? My 3-year-old granddaughter being stung by a Portuguese Man-o-War jellyfish. 😱
Yep. Those gorgeous blue creatures with their floaty little sails? Apparently, they come with venom. Who knew?
Cue full-blown panic, a mad dash to the ER (my heart still hasn't slowed down), and a nurse gently explaining that if she were going to have an allergic reaction, it would’ve already happened. Deep breaths, Grammy.
They doused her leg in plain white vinegar (pro tip: keep a bottle on hand at the beach!) and sent us home with reassurance and a reminder that while Maryland jellies sting, Texas jellies strike fear. 😅
