Kindness is a Power move

Beautiful soul,

It’s Random Acts of Kindness Week.

Which means the internet is about to tell you to:
Buy someone coffee.
Compliment a stranger.
Leave an encouraging sticky note in Target.

And yes. Do those things. I love those things.

But before we start sprinkling glitter kindness on the world…

Let’s talk about something revolutionary.

What if you were kind to yourself first?

I know. Scandalous.

💛 The Kindness Plot Twist No One Talks About

You cannot pour from an empty cup.

And you cannot regulate from a fried nervous system.

And you cannot spread calm when you’re silently holding your breath all day.

Kindness isn’t just about being nice.
It’s about creating safety — starting in your own body.

So this week, we’re flipping the script.

Before you hand out kindness…

You receive it.

🌿 Your Monday Kindness Ritual (5–10 Minutes)

This is simple. No crystals required.

Step 1: Put your hand on your chest.
Take three slow breaths. Let your shoulders drop.

Step 2: Say this (out loud if you can):

“I am allowed to rest.
I am allowed to soften.
I am allowed to not carry everything.”

Yes, it might feel dramatic.
Do it anyway.

Step 3: Ask yourself one question:
What would feel kind to me today?

Not productive.
Not impressive.
Not efficient.

Kind.

Maybe it’s:

  • Going to bed 30 minutes earlier.
  • Canceling something you don’t have the bandwidth for.
  • Boxing it out at the gym.
  • Drinking water before coffee.
  • Not answering that text immediately.

Then do that one thing.

That’s your first act of kindness.

🌎 Tiny, Powerful Acts You Can Offer the World

Once your cup isn’t bone dry, here are a few small, potent kindness ideas:

✨ Send a voice memo to someone telling them specifically what you admire about them.
✨ Leave a positive review for a small business you love.
✨ Put your cart back (revolutionary, I know).
✨ Tip 20% even if service was just “meh.”
✨ Text: “Thinking about you. No need to respond.”
✨ Pay for someone’s coffee.
✨ Smile at the tired mom in the grocery store like you see her.

Kindness doesn’t have to be grand.

It just has to be intentional.

🥊 Also… I Published Something Very Real

If you haven’t read it yet, I just shared a deeply personal piece:

“Punching My Way to Peace”

It’s about how boxing and kickboxing — not just yoga and meditation — are helping me heal decades of swallowed anger and trauma.

Yoga softens me.
Boxing strengthens me.

One teaches stillness.
The other teaches sovereignty.

It’s honest. It’s raw. It’s a little funny. And it might just inspire you to find your own powerful outlet.

👉 Read it here: Punching My Way to Peace

(And yes, I’m still the woman who meditates. I just also throw punches now. Growth.)

Final Thought for Your Monday

You are not required to earn your rest.
You are not required to overextend to be lovable.
You are not required to burn yourself out to be kind.

This week, let’s redefine kindness.

Not as martyrdom.

But as regulation.
Boundaries.
Compassion.
And power.

Start with you.

Then ripple outward.

With so much love (and a little boxing glove energy),
Jessi 💛
