Memorial Day for the Mildly Unhinged Women 💋

Hey beautiful soul,

Well…

Mother Nature apparently looked at Memorial Day weekend and said:
“Absolutely not.”

Cool temperatures.
Rain.
Clouds.
General emotional support casserole energy.

But honestly?

Maybe that’s okay.

Because somewhere along the way, women were taught that joy had to look perfect.

Perfect weather.
Perfect body.
Perfect relationship.
Perfect kitchen.
Perfect summer.

And I don’t know about you…
…but I’m getting a little too old and a little too powerful to keep waiting for “perfect” before I let myself LIVE.

So this weekend?

We make summer happen anyway.

We light the candles.
We eat the burgers.
We laugh too loud.
We rest without guilt.
We stop apologizing for existing.
We wear the shorts anyway.
We become the women we needed years ago.

And THAT, my friend, feels like freedom.

☀️ THIS WEEK’S FEATURED ARTICLE
“Aging Like Fine Wine & Mildly Unhinged Feminine Rage”
(Midlife women are dangerous because we finally see the game.)

This piece has been resonating deeply with women lately because it’s about something bigger than aging.

It’s about finally seeing your worth.
Finally reclaiming your voice.
Finally realizing that shrinking yourself never actually made anyone love you more.

And honestly?

There is something deeply beautiful about women over 40 who stop asking permission to exist fully.

☔ RAINY MEMORIAL DAY FUN (Because the weather app chose violence)

If your backyard BBQ plans got attacked by thunderstorms, here are some cozy, magical alternatives:

✨ Put twinkle lights around the house anyway
✨ Have a “living room picnic” on blankets
✨ Make summer mocktails or margaritas
✨ Watch thunderstorms from the porch
✨ Host a board game or UNO tournament
✨ Dance in your kitchen like it’s 1997
✨ Make a summer playlist and romanticize your life a little

And if you need movie (or bingeable show) ideas?

A cozy lineup might include:
• Practical Magic (still one of my favorites after 20+ years!)
• Grace and Frankie
• Dead to Me
• Under the Tuscan Sun

Honestly?
That sounds pretty healing to me.

🍔 POTLUCK + COOKOUT IDEAS
(That still work even if everyone ends up indoors)

MAIN CHARACTER ENERGY FOODS:
• BBQ pulled chicken sliders
• Loaded hot dog bar
• Crockpot baked beans
• Sheet pan sausage + veggies
• Hawaiian roll mini sandwiches

THE SIDES:
• Loaded potato salad
• Mexican street corn dip
• Pasta salad
• Watermelon feta salad
• Deviled eggs (because obviously)

EASY DESSERTS:
• Strawberry shortcake cups
• S’mores dip in the oven
• Lemon blueberry dump cake
• Brownie ice cream sandwiches

🎲 FUN THINGS TO DO WITH FAMILY & FRIENDS
Especially when everyone is trapped inside together 😂

• Charades
• Karaoke
• “Minute to Win It” games
• Summer trivia
• UNO battles that destroy relationships
• A storytelling contest:
“Most Unhinged Midlife Purchase”

(I KNOW some of you have stories.)

🌼 THIS WEEK’S UNFOLLOW
Unfollow the idea that your best years already happened.

Nope.

Not buying it.

Not when women over 40 are:
Starting businesses.
Leaving toxic situations.
Falling in love again.
Getting healthier.
Finding themselves.
Traveling.
Starting over.
Laughing harder.
Living freer.

Your story is not ending.

It’s finally getting interesting.
