The part of “starting over” nobody puts on Instagram

What if you’re ready…but your bank account isn’t?

I’ve been thinking about something this week that I suspect more women are quietly struggling with than we realize.

What happens when you know you need a different life…but financially, you’re nowhere near ready for one?

I know that space.

The debt. The lack of savings. The family responsibilities. The career decisions made around everybody else’s needs. And that awful feeling of looking at the numbers and thinking:

How the hell am I supposed to start over from here?

I call it The Midlife Escape Gap—the space between “I cannot keep living like this” and “I can actually afford to change it.”

And I wrote about it this week because I think we need to talk about the messy middle of reinvention—not just the beautiful after pictures.

If you’re somewhere in that gap right now, this one is for you:

And if that is where you are, please remember this:

Your financial situation is a problem to solve. It is not your identity.

You don’t have to solve your entire life this week.

Just keep building options.

One better decision. One new skill. One application. One paid-off bill. One boundary. One dollar saved.

It counts.

Talk soon,

Jessi 🤍

P.S. If part of your rebuilding plan is creating income that doesn’t depend entirely on an employer, my Freedom Empire Starter Pack: The Grown-Ass Woman’s Tactical Guide to Digital Income is still just $2.50 right now.

It’s a low-cost place to start exploring what digital income could actually look like—without buying some ridiculous $997 course from a stranger on the internet. 😉
